Desire Lines

First off here is an explanation of what desire lines are....

you get it? ok so what I did was trace back to the desire lines that had the most influence to me in the area I live and found some new ones along the way.

The one to the left looks like just a road but its not its Oracle road between Fort Lowell and Prince. So where are the desire lines you may ask. They are perpendicular to Oracle itself because just east (to the right) is Amphi High. Yeah there's crosswalks but as a teenager they didn't serve my purposes and most of my classmates either... anyway it was a nice trip down memory lane.

While taking this trip and walking around I was getting my oil changed and I found this one where the sidewalk ended so people of course made their own path.

Next is a neighborhood I used to live in just down the street on 1st Ave and Prince. I lived here for 3 years and noticed something... see that crosswalk? well for whatever reason people still wouldn't use it. desire Lines in an urban environment are hard to find because everything is paved... but I thought about it and just because you cant "see" a desire line doesn't mean it doesn't exist. which gets to the heart of the desire lines above.

now this IS the desire line that I saw time and time again while living here (by the crosswalk)... scrolling down you'll see why

yup, Gus's Liquor Store. and just south of that is the grocery store and the Boondocks bar. so along this street there are may desire lines

These are "my" desire lines to get to Gus's... I happend to live on the same side of the street as it.
